I love reading past journal entries. I am encouraged to see all that God has brought me through and to see how much I have learned and matured over time. Unlike these blogs, you can feel more free to write what you want. Sure, there's the possibility of someone reading it, but a wise woman once said to me, "What's the worst that could happen [if someone reads your journal]? They get to know the real you."
