HIS: Used to indicate the one or ones belonging to him

dictionaries: reference books giving meanings of words

properly: in the right way

... Well, really, some of the definitions you gave are erroneous. E.g. "make an effort" is given on dictionary.com as an _example_ of the use of "do"/"make", not a definition. Blunders like this are hardly a good way to encourage people to embrace your religion. :-)
